As a member of the YOKOWO Group, Nanshin newly built and completed a plant in Shinjo, Yamagata Prefecture, and held a completion ceremony on 9 October. The new plant began operations on 1 September, and its production equipment was expanded to meet rising demand for semiconductor inspection probes accompanying the growth of the generative AI-related market.
The new plant primarily manufactures micropipes used in semiconductor inspection probes. The micropipes are ultrahigh-precision microtubes with a diameter of 0.04 mm, manufactured using Nanshin's proprietary electroforming technology.
The plant is the first full-scale micropipe production facility in Yamagata Prefecture. Existing manufacturing functions were transferred from the Yamagata Sales Office. The investment totaled ¥200 million, and the plant has a total floor area of 680 square metres.
The company plans to achieve production capacity of 30 million units per month in the first half of 2027, with the Yamagata Plant expected to account for approximately 30% of Nanshin's total micropipe production capacity.
