八十二長野銀行 and 富山第一銀行 announced a comprehensive business alliance and plan to migrate their core banking system to a joint system in January 2030, with the aim of improving customer services and stimulating the economies of Nagano and Toyama prefectures. They will not enter into a capital alliance and will maintain management independence.
The announcement concerned 八十二長野銀行 of Nagano City and 富山第一銀行 of Toyama City, not a specific area in Kyushu. The two banks said on 30 September that they had entered into a comprehensive business alliance and intend to stimulate the regional economies of Nagano and Toyama through cooperation.
The alliance was prompted by plans to migrate the core banking system, which handles key operations such as deposits and lending, to a joint system in January 2030. The banks aim to improve customer services by leveraging each other’s expertise and networks.
They will not enter into a capital alliance or pursue financial integration, and said they will maintain management independence. Going forward, they are expected to enhance regional financial services and stimulate the economy by developing a framework for joint operations.
