Game Freak has announced its new mobile game “Rain, Then Sunshine Girl,” which features a weather-linked system that incorporates weather information from across Japan. The game is scheduled for release on iOS and Android this winter and will also have a special booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026 (TGS2026).
The entirely new mobile game “Rain, Then Sunshine Girl” follows the adventures of Hare Girl, who keeps normal conditions and brightens people’s spirits, and Kumorin, a messenger of the gods. A key feature is its system in which real-world weather affects the in-game experience in the form of sunshine, rain, cloudy skies, snow and other conditions.
Pre-registration is currently open through the app stores for each operating system, with release scheduled for this winter. The game will use data from Weathernews as its source of real-world weather information.
The characters introduced include Harawatari Himawari, Arai Pon, Amanohara Yuri, Oribe Kon, Shinotsuki Izu and Yumekawa Chuchu, with the story depicting the activities of the paired Hare Girl Club. Players will wash their Hare outfits to improve their condition and prepare for patrols.
The TGS2026 special booth will feature an exhibition area recreating the clubroom, as well as the Machine Sentakki machine that appeared in the teaser PV. Visitor giveaways will include a special Rurubu-edited booklet, promotional detergent, stickers, the mini-magazine REBOOT and mini acrylic stands.
