FIXER Inc. has begun offering the redaction app it jointly developed with Iga City as a standard feature of Sovereign GaiXer. The app is designed for employees to make the final decisions while AI extracts potential redactions, and operates within a closed network environment.
FIXER Inc. began offering on 25 September a redaction app for information disclosure requests, jointly developed with Iga City, Mie Prefecture, as a standard feature of its on-premises generative AI platform, Sovereign GaiXer. No additional fees are required, and the app is also available from the same date in the free trial environment.
The redaction app reads government documents and extracts personal information such as names, addresses and telephone numbers, corporate information, and information relating to the policymaking process as potential redactions. AI is limited to extracting candidates, while people make the final decisions based on ordinances and operating standards under a “Human in the Loop” design. Document processing is designed to be completed within a closed network environment, with emphasis placed on reducing the risk of information leakage.
FIXER Inc. entered into an agreement with Iga City in April 2023 to demonstrate AI-based government services and began full-scale implementation of GaiXer from October 2024. Just under 1,000 city employees use it for tasks such as preparing and summarising minutes, and the app was built in approximately one month based on feedback from the field. The free trial can be accessed via a browser, applications take approximately 3 minutes, and guidance is provided within as little as 2 business days.
Going forward, FIXER Inc. aims to expand business applications developed in local-government settings as standard features of Sovereign GaiXer and promote digital transformation in government by combining generative AI in closed network environments with employee judgment.
