On 23 October, Rohto Pharmaceutical entered into a strategic partnership with the Hong Kong Government's OASES and signed an agreement to become its first strategic enterprise partner from Japan. The company is expected to use Hong Kong as a research and development hub and accelerate its business expansion in Asia.
Rohto Pharmaceutical announced on 23 October that it had entered into a strategic partnership with the Hong Kong Government's OFFICE FOR ATTRACTING STRATEGIC ENTERPRISES (OASES) and signed an agreement to become a strategic enterprise partner. This makes it the first Japanese company to be designated an OASES strategic enterprise partner.
The company plans to position Hong Kong as one of its research and development and business development hubs, deepen collaboration with local universities, hospitals and companies, and accelerate business development across Asia. OASES is a scheme that promotes innovation and research and development in Hong Kong, and more than 140 companies have been accredited since its launch in October 2022.
This is the first such partnership involving a Japanese company and is viewed as part of Rohto Pharmaceutical's strategy to drive growth in Asian markets from Hong Kong. Going forward, the company is expected to expand its business by working with local research institutions and companies and leveraging its research and development base.
