Rohto Pharmaceutical has signed a strategic enterprise partnership agreement with OASES, the Hong Kong government’s Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises, becoming the first Japanese company to enter into such a partnership. It will position Hong Kong as a strategic hub for collaboration and co-creation in Asia and deepen ties with local partners.
Rohto Pharmaceutical announced on the 23rd that it had signed a strategic enterprise partnership agreement with OASES, the Hong Kong government’s Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises. It is the first such partnership involving a Japanese company, and the company’s expertise and track record in the healthcare and medical fields were cited as having been recognized.
The partnership will serve as an opportunity to position Hong Kong as one of the company’s strategic business and co-creation hubs going forward. The company stated that it will deepen collaboration with local partners and the regional community and contribute to creating value in health and daily life across Asia.
As its Hong Kong base, Rohto Pharmaceutical has drawn on Rohto Advanced Research Hong Kong Limited (ARHK) to conduct clinical research and development and pursue regulatory approvals in regenerative medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology and orthopedics. The company plans to expand this knowledge and technology into the healthcare and medical fields.
ARHK was established in 2019 with the mission of combining Hong Kong’s scientific expertise with Rohto’s science to co-create healthcare innovation.
