ESPEC will launch a battery storage testing and certification service in November. The service will cover battery storage systems used by the public sector and in critical infrastructure, including data centers.
In addition to systems for public institutions such as elementary schools and medical facilities, the service will cover applications that support social infrastructure, including grid-connected battery storage facilities and data centers.
The service is intended to prevent accidents such as fires and help maintain social infrastructure.
Nikkei reported the service launch, and ESPEC indicated that it plans to comply with the safety guidelines established in May.
