PIGEON CORPORATION and Tomonite will co-host a World Prematurity Day awareness event at Ario Kitasuna from 11:00 to 16:30 on 14 October 2026. The event will feature participatory activities including a photo exhibition, talk sessions and a handprint wall where visitors can leave their handprints.
PIGEON CORPORATION and Tomonite, operated by every,Inc., will co-host “A Day to Hold Small Hands and Hold Hands Together: Your ‘Knowing’ Becomes Encouragement,” an awareness event held ahead of World Prematurity Day in November. The event will take place at the 1F Leaf Court of Ario Kitasuna in Koto-ku, Tokyo, from 11:00 to 16:30 on 14 October 2026. Aimed at families raising children and their family members, it will feature a photo exhibition, a talk session, a handprint wall and an information area on support such as milk banks.
The event explains that babies born prematurely account for approximately 6% of all births in Japan, or about 1 in 20 births, and aims to deepen awareness and understanding across society. The photo exhibition will follow the children’s growth stories and is expected to introduce the feelings of their families at the time, as well as experiences that provided support.
The day’s program includes a stage talk session from 13:00 to 13:45, featuring 2 mothers who experienced preterm birth, an expert and a PIGEON CORPORATION representative. They will reflect on their experiences and discuss messages about the children’s growth. After the talk, participants will be invited to add their handprints to a “handprint wall,” creating a display of messages of support from visitors on the venue’s backboard. The photo exhibition will also be held at the same venue from 11:00 to 16:30, offering visitors an opportunity to follow the children’s growth.
As part of continuing awareness activities through video content, Tomonite’s official social media accounts will publish videos featuring the stories of people who experienced preterm birth and introducing milk banks. Efforts to deepen understanding across society are expected to continue after the event ends.
