Xiaomi has announced a succession of new products for the Japanese market. Alongside the REDMI 17 and REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, including 4G smartphones, the company has also launched new wearables, home appliances and other products.
Xiaomi announced its latest smartphones, the REDMI 17 and REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, on 27 August. New products including smartwatches, robot vacuum cleaners and speakers were also unveiled, followed by the additional announcement of the POCO F9 Ultra on 1 September.
Xiaomi said it plans to launch products in Japan without significantly changing the timing of global announcements, and explained that it is introducing 4G models that can support the lowest-priced segment even at the low end of the market. The company indicated that the low-end segment has a large volume, and that it intends to offer products that can be used for a long time despite the impact of rising memory prices.
The product drawing particular attention in this lineup is the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, which features a 10,000mAh battery. It was positioned as a technological milestone enabling extended use. Xiaomi also outlined a long-term support policy covering 4 OS updates and 6 years of security support.
The company also discussed expanding Xiaomi Store sales, growing to 11 locations across Japan following its Nagoya opening. It plans to continue prioritising customer service by strengthening its range of wearable products and installing in-store product experience areas.
