Xiaomi has announced its 13th smartphone model in Japan this year, adding 3 new models. The lineup includes a mid-range device with a high-capacity battery, an affordable 4G entry-level model, and an online flagship under the POCO brand.
Xiaomi has expanded its lineup of smartphones launched in Japan this year to 13 models. The 3 new models comprise a mid-range device with a high-capacity battery, a 4G-only entry-level device, and a flagship model under the POCO brand. By expanding its lineup to include POCO, its online-only brand, the company is reportedly seeking to strengthen its presence in the Japanese market.
One of the new models, the “REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G,” features a high-capacity battery of up to 10,000mAh, with a thickness of 8.57mm and a weight of approximately 229.5g. The 8GB/256GB model is priced at ¥79,980 and the 8GB/512GB model at ¥99,980, with an early-bird discount of ¥10,000 on each model through 14 October. Its battery life, designed to support up to approximately 3 days of typical use, is a key selling point.
The “REDMI 17” is a 4G-only entry-level model, priced at ¥34,980 for 4GB/128GB and ¥44,980 for 4GB/256GB, with an early-bird discount of ¥5,000 on each model through 14 October. It does not support NFC and is designed specifically for 4G connectivity, with a certain level of demand expected, particularly among casual users.
The online brand’s “POCO F9 Ultra” is intended to deliver flagship-class performance at a lower price point. The 12GB/256GB model is priced at ¥149,800 and the 16GB/512GB model at ¥169,800, with an early-bird discount of ¥20,000 through 23 September. Its specifications include a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, VisionBoost D8, a 6.9-inch display, a 185Hz refresh rate, an 8,050mAh battery, 100W charging, and a 200MP camera.
The company also introduced products in the wearable and IoT categories, including the Redmi Watch 6 Lite, Watch 6 Active, Xiaomi Smart Band 11 Active, Xiaomi Sound Play, Robot Vacuum 6 Max/6, Mijia Cordless Vacuum Cleaner 4C, and Smart Camera C200 Neo. The lineup is positioned as offering high performance while keeping prices within accessible ranges.
