The CCEVA CO2 adsorption/desorption evaluation instrument developed by 堀場製作所 has been adopted by RITE's Carbon Capture Technology Evaluation Center, which is scheduled to begin full-scale operations in November 2026 as an evaluation facility using actual gases.
The CCEVA CO2 adsorption/desorption evaluation instrument developed by 堀場製作所 has been adopted by the Carbon Capture Technology Evaluation Center of the Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth (RITE). The evaluation center is Japan's first facility for evaluating CO2 adsorbents using actual gases, and its full-scale operations are expected to begin around November 2026 following the introduction of CCEVA.
CCEVA's capabilities, including reproducing and automating CO2 separation and capture test conditions in a single unit and supporting long-duration endurance testing, were recognized as the company seeks to accelerate the spread and social implementation of CCUS technologies.
CCEVA integrates the entire process, from test-gas generation and supply control through adsorption/desorption testing and analysis, and allows flexible setting of conditions such as CO2 concentration, temperature, pressure, and flow rate. Through long-term automated operation and highly reproducible data acquisition, it is intended to support RITE's establishment of an evaluation platform.
The introduction is part of RITE's initiative to establish a common evaluation platform for CO2 separation materials using actual gases. Through delivery of the instrument, 堀場製作所 will support the social implementation of CCUS technologies.
