On 22 October, Lexus announced minor updates to its compact LBX model and said it would go on sale through Lexus dealerships nationwide from 3 November. The updates focus on enhancing the quality of its driving performance and ride comfort.
Lexus announced minor updates to its compact LBX model, with sales scheduled to begin on 3 November. Despite its small size, the LBX aims to transcend the conventional vehicle size hierarchy through its refined driving performance and design. Since its introduction in December 2023, it is said to have sold approximately 130,000 units across more than 60 countries and regions.
The updates focus on taking Lexus Driving Signature to a higher level, with improvements to the fundamental handling stability and ride comfort of the vehicle at the TTC-S development center. Lexus explained that it increased body rigidity by changing the thickness of the center crossmember and repeatedly carried out extensive driving tests and chassis tuning at the Nürburgring.
Specific updates include changes to the shock absorber valve characteristics to achieve supple body control even on rough roads. The control of the electric power steering (EPS) was also revised, with the aim of combining ease of handling in everyday driving with handling stability at high speeds.
The latest updates are intended to further enhance the LBX’s ride comfort and driving performance, and interest is likely to build around its future market rollout and real-world test-drive experience.
