Lexus has introduced improvements to its flagship RX and began nationwide sales on 30 September. Chassis improvements and expanded equipment enhance driving stability and everyday comfort.
On 30 September, Lexus introduced improvements to the RX flagship crossover SUV and began sales through Lexus dealerships nationwide. The improvements cover the hybrid RX500h, RX450h+ and RX350h AWD models. Since its North American debut in 1998, the RX has sold approximately 4.3 million units cumulatively and is a core model.
The main focus of the improvements is chassis refinement to enhance driving feel. In addition to its conventional development facilities, Lexus conducted driving tests and tuning at the Nürburgring in Germany. It optimized control of the AVS, EPS and DRS to pursue linear, natural vehicle behavior in response to steering inputs and reduced body movement even on rough roads.
The exterior and interior design and functions were also improved. The luxury-grade version L now offers a new color, White Nova Glass Flake. On F SPORT-series models, the brake caliper paint color has been changed to red. All vehicles now come with front-door glass with an IR-cut function, a drive recorder capable of recording both front and rear views, and a digital rear-view mirror as standard equipment. The brake-hold function also adopts standby memory, reducing inconvenience when starting off.
The expanded equipment also includes extending the digital rear-view mirror and drive recorder, previously focused on higher-end models, to all vehicles, including the RX500h, RX450h+ and RX350h. This is intended to raise the standard of security and safety equipment.
