Apple has officially announced Apple HomeView, a home device with a 7-inch display. It will launch on 13 November at a U.S. price of $299, but Japan is reportedly excluded from the sales regions.
Apple announced HomeView, presenting it as a family-sharing device with a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and A18 chip. Designed for use in kitchens and living rooms, it features a system that uses the display to switch between individual users' information. The U.S. price is $299, and launch is scheduled for 13 November.
The 8 sales countries are the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore and South Africa, with Japan excluded. Siri AI will support English only in these 8 countries. Apple also explained that the product will not be sold in the EU.
The device has an aluminum enclosure and a 7-inch display, with an adjustable viewing angle suited to table height. The wall-mountable model costs $299 in the United States and can be mounted using a dedicated mount. Brightness is adjusted automatically from 500 nits for readability in sunlight to 0.3 nits in dark environments.
The device uses the same A18 chip as the iPhone 16. Centered on Siri AI, it supports a range of functions, including responding to calendar and message queries, displaying lyrics during music playback, FaceTime, intercom and recipe display. It features Secure Exclave technology to protect privacy, allowing content to be displayed only when the user's iPhone is nearby.
