Secom launched Safe Assist, a new service addressing customer harassment, on 1 October 2026. The dedicated app records audio and sends HELP notifications to supervisors, enabling faster assessment of situations at the scene.
Secom has launched Safe Assist, which allows employees to record audio and notify supervisors when they experience customer harassment. The app is compatible with iPhone and Apple Watch, and is intended to support customer-harassment response across the organisation at stores and other workplaces.
Employees can start recording by pressing and holding a button and send a HELP notification to a registered supervisor. Supervisors can check the employee's location and play audio from the scene to assess the situation, enabling a faster response.
Recorded data is managed in the cloud and is not retained on the device, reducing information-management risks. The service also provides a centralised case-management function through a PC administration interface for headquarters, enabling the organisation to manage customer-harassment incidents systematically.
The Secom SOS plan is available as an option and includes assistance with contacting the police. There is no initial fee, and monthly fees are quoted based on the number of users.
