At CEATEC 2026, Asahara Giken will demonstrate a prototype of its newly developed 3D sensor at QD Laser’s booth. Using an LSP module as its light source, the system generates a 3D point cloud with a camera and proprietary software.
Asahara Giken is scheduled to showcase a prototype of its newly developed 3D sensor at QD Laser’s booth at CEATEC 2026, which will be held at Makuhari Messe from 13 to 16 October 2026. The prototype uses QD Laser’s laser scanning projector (LSP module) as its light source.
The LSP module incorporates a scanning engine from Taiwan-based Ultimems, allowing Japanese and Taiwanese technologies to be observed in a single working unit. Asahara Giken will exhibit a system that combines the module with a camera and measurement software, captures projected fringes and converts them into a 3D point cloud.
The company develops visual inspection systems that combine 2D (colour and patterns), 3D (shape) and AI-based judgment, and also develops its AI visual inspection software “ESPER VISION” in-house. The prototype is positioned as a new option for miniaturising the 3D component.
Based at its own factory in Mizuho, Gifu Prefecture, the company can measure objects ranging from minute components at the micrometre level to large objects approximately 10m in height. Its technology will be introduced as part of efforts to improve visibility at worksites.
