At the CEATEC 2026 venue, founder AI “Asahara Izumi (浅原 泉)” of Asahara Giken operated equipment using visitors’ voices and demonstrated 3D measurement. At QD Laser’s booth 8H122, a demonstration was held in which a 3D point cloud was displayed after fringe projection and the capture of 32 images.
At CEATEC 2026, currently being held at Makuhari Messe, a demonstration unit from Asahara Giken was operated at QD Laser’s booth 8H122 by AI guide “Asahara Izumi (浅原 泉),” automatically proceeding from equipment startup to 3D point-cloud display in response to visitors’ voices. The sample was a coin-sized disc, and the measurement procedure had been predetermined, with no manual operation by staff on site.
According to the technical explanation, the system uses QD Laser’s laser scanning projector as its light source, scans with Ultimems’ MEMS mirror, and generates a 3D point cloud by combining a camera with proprietary software. The exhibition unit was specified as having a 46.0×44.0mm field of view, XY resolution of 0.046mm/pixel, a Z range of 2.5mm and Z accuracy of 0.02mm.
Asahara Giken develops its own 2D + 3D + AI inspection and 3D sensing systems. Its business activities, including education and support for in-house implementation, as well as inspection of actual equipment at its own factory in Mizuho, Gifu Prefecture, were also introduced. Founder Izumi led the demonstration as AI, and the company continues to emphasize implementing technology that serves as the “eyes” of the worksite.
Alongside CEATEC 2026 briefings and developments in the business community, the demonstration has attracted attention during the event as a practical implementation of physical AI. The booth presentation is positioned as an attempt to show AI operating machinery in the real world, with Izumi operating the equipment to carry out measurements and provide explanations.
