Nakazawa Taisuke (中沢太輔), 39, senior managing director of 中沢建設 in Kakegai, Unnan City, met with Unnan Mayor Ishitobi Atsushi (石飛厚志) at city hall and reported that he had been appointed a regional ambassador for Atotsugi Koshien. Drawing on his experience competing in a regional round, Senior Managing Director Nakazawa explained that interaction among prospective successors can lead them to reassess their family businesses.
Atotsugi Koshien is an initiative organized by the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency. Prospective successors who advance through regional rounds compete by presenting proposals in 4 minutes, and participants are eligible for preferential treatment in the allocation of subsidies. The FY2026 national competition in Tokyo is scheduled for February 2027.
Mayor Ishitobi believes that generational succession in family businesses is also accelerating in Shimane Prefecture, and said the competition is important because it encourages prospective successors to move forward.
Senior Managing Director Nakazawa plans to organize seminars in Unnan City, working with the city’s chamber of commerce and the Shimane Business Succession and Handover Support Center.
