Rengo announced that it will raise prices for paperboard and converted paper products, including containerboard products, by more than 10% from current levels for deliveries from January 2027. The move is intended to pass on higher raw-material costs, with specific increases to be presented individually based on transaction terms and product.
Rengo announced on the 13th that it will raise prices for containerboard products and related products for deliveries from January 2027. The increase is expected to exceed 10%, and the company indicated that it plans to pass higher costs on to customers.
The products covered extend beyond containerboard products to include products across the paperboard and converted paper segments, such as containerboard base paper and paperboard packaging. Specific increases will be presented individually based on the previous revision and transaction terms.
The background is said to include higher raw-material costs resulting from prolonged instability in the Middle East and rising interest rates. The company described the increase as exceeding what can be absorbed through its own efforts.
Price increases are also spreading across the paper industry amid higher costs. Oji Materia, a subsidiary of Oji Holdings, Nippon Paper Group and Daio Paper have also implemented price revisions in the past.
