Kyodo Printing has developed a laminated tube container incorporating an oxygen-absorbing layer. It absorbs oxygen generated by the contents and residual oxygen in the headspace, providing high barrier performance that suppresses deterioration. The product will be exhibited for reference at TOKYO PACK 2026, to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from 14 October.
Kyodo Printing announced that it had developed an oxygen-absorbing laminated tube container that prevents deterioration of the contents. The new container incorporates an oxygen-absorbing layer designed to absorb oxygen generated by the contents and residual oxygen in the headspace, providing high barrier performance that enables stable storage, while suppressing loss of functionality and discoloration even for contents that have previously been difficult to preserve.
The company expects applications not only in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics but also in food products, and said the range of uses could expand, including through longer shelf lives.
The development will be exhibited for reference at TOKYO PACK 2026, to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from 14 October.
