The company announced its declaration to move the mass-market izakaya brand 串カツ田中 beyond its existing format, as well as the full acquisition of PISOLA as a wholly owned subsidiary. Its growth strategy through rebranding and the circumstances behind the 2026 company-name change have become clear.
ユニシアホールディングス announced its declaration to move beyond 串カツ田中 last September and made PISOLA, regarded as a roadside restaurant industry revolutionary, a wholly owned subsidiary. PISOLA operates approximately 60 locations in the Italian dining segment, with an average spend per customer of approximately ¥3,000.
On 4 September this year, the company announced the rebranding of 串カツ田中. It plans to redesign the restaurant interiors as more relaxed spaces and standardise the sign logos under a new design. New menu items will include unlimited highballs, drinks subject to price cuts, and unlimited garlic-and-hormone skewers.
The aim of the rebranding is to encourage use by a broad range of customers while maintaining its foundation in residential neighbourhood locations. The company said it aims to attract new customers, including women and solo diners, expand into central urban areas, upper-floor locations and large commercial facilities, and ultimately grow the overall network to 500–1,000 locations.
In March 2026, 串カツ田中 changed its company name to ユニシアHD. Kan Keiji (貫啓二) emphasised its 0-to-1 initiatives and said the company would continue developing its people and exploring new business areas.
