ITOHAM YONEKYU HOLDINGS INC. and Future Architect announced that they will advance a logistics transformation project to optimize transport and delivery by centrally managing logistics data. They are developing a visibility platform to support execution of the medium- to long-term plan and aim to strengthen progress management, thereby improving underlying earnings power and the management foundation.
The new platform will connect the analysis previously conducted separately to ongoing management and improvement, promoting higher loading rates, reviews of transport routes, and reductions in waiting and cargo-handling times. The companies will enhance KPI management and optimize logistics costs to support execution of measures under the medium- to long-term plan.
After the platform goes live, they will also consider efficiency measures that cross corporate boundaries, including joint transport and delivery with logistics providers and shippers, as well as the use of unused capacity and return trips. The companies aim to build a sustainable logistics system that supports a stable supply of food in Japan through continuous, data-based improvement and collaboration.
