Kisoji cut its first-half ordinary income/loss forecast, citing a wider loss. The forecast was revised from a ¥70 million loss to a ¥400 million loss, while the full-year ordinary profit forecast was left unchanged at ¥3.25 billion.
Kisoji announced an earnings revision on the afternoon of 4 November, cutting its consolidated ordinary income/loss forecast for the six months ended September 2026, the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, from a ¥70 million loss to a ¥400 million loss. The company posted a ¥70 million loss in the same period a year earlier.
The full-year ordinary profit forecast was left unchanged at ¥3.25 billion. The company cited the impact of seasonal products and sales initiatives, as well as subdued consumption caused by inflation resulting from the destabilisation of the situation in the Middle East and the effects of unsettled weather.
According to the company’s explanation, sales fell below the previous forecast due to the impact of store closures and temporary closures for renovations. Although the cost ratio improved, higher personnel and other expenses led to wider operating and ordinary losses.
