Toyota has unveiled the new Sequoia in North America. New features include a redesigned exterior, the new Trailhunter package and upgraded equipment, while the i-FORCE MAX hybrid delivers 437ps and 9,120 pounds of towing capacity.
On 4 November, Toyota's North American operations unveiled the new Sequoia. The updates include a redesigned exterior, the first introduction of the Trailhunter package, an upgraded TRD Pro and enhanced towing technology.
The exterior features revised front-end geometry to highlight a wider stance and a more planted appearance. A redesigned lower bumper integrates new rectangular fog lamps, while hexagonal grille designs are used for each grade to differentiate the character of each trim.
Trailhunter is a new SR5-based package with an upgraded Old Man Emu suspension, underbody skid plates, front recovery hooks and Michelin LTX Trail tires. Crawl Control, Multi-Terrain Select and an electronically locking rear differential are now standard, while dedicated bronze wheels and badging set it apart.
TRD Pro adopts newly designed FOX QS3 adjustable shocks to improve stability during high-speed desert driving and on rocky terrain. Red tow hooks are now standard, and a new signature color featuring a honeycomb motif is available.
All grades feature the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. Combining a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 with a motor generator, it is said to deliver maximum output of 437ps and 583 lb-ft, along with a towing capacity of 9,120 pounds.
