At its 29 and 30 monetary policy meetings, the Bank of Japan decided by majority vote to maintain its current policy. Board Member Takata dissented, while a proposal to double the pace of ETF sales from next year was approved unanimously.
At its monetary policy meetings on the 29th and 30th, the Bank of Japan decided by majority vote to maintain its current monetary policy.
At the meetings, Board Member Takata, who expressed a dissenting opinion, pointed to a new phase that would enable a flexible response toward the neutral interest rate, and an alternative proposal was rejected.
It was decided unanimously that, from January next year, the annual ratio of ETF sales to total trading value across the market would proceed at twice the previous pace.
A section of the Outlook Report stated that the underlying rate of increase in consumer prices was broadly consistent with the 2% price stability target, suggesting that policy would be managed in response to price developments going forward.
