McDonald’s will end sales of Chikichi in October and announce a new product at the same time. With McPork also returning for the first time in 5 years, the company continues to rotate its standard, seasonal and returning products.
McDonald’s will end sales of Chikichi (McChicken Cheese) on 20 October. A new product is also scheduled to be announced on the 8th, and several chicken-based products will be discontinued in succession.
Meanwhile, McPork returned in February this year for the first time in 5 years, while the Tsukimi Family and Ebi Purio will be introduced in September, alongside a succession of new products, returning products and revamped standard items.
These moves can be viewed as menu renewal. The strategy creates room for new products by ending sales of existing items, while also bringing back products from the past. The company also plans to offer seasonal and limited-time products to create reasons to visit beyond price.
