「The Group supports the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), which was recommended by the Financial Stability Board (FSB), and conducts scenario analyses concerning climate change and related issues. We have established two scenarios: one in which inadequate measures result in high greenhouse gas emissions and a temperature increase of 4.0°C above pre-industrial levels by 2100, and another in which stringent climate policies are introduced and emissions are limited to keep the temperature increase by 2100 within 1.5°C. We analyse the financial impact of the physical and transition risks arising from climate change, assess their impact on the business, consider appropriate responses and disclose the results on our website.」
The analysis of the 4.0°C and 1.5°C scenarios, financial impact assessments and disclosures continue, and evaluations and disclosures concerning natural capital and biodiversity based on the TNFD have also been newly included. - FY2025RestatedAnnual report
「The company established two scenarios: one in which inadequate measures result in high greenhouse gas emissions and a 4.0°C increase in temperatures from pre-industrial levels by 2100, and another in which stringent climate policies are introduced and the temperature increase by 2100 is kept within 1.5°C. It will analyze the financial effects of physical and transition risks from climate change, assess their impact on the business, consider responses, and disclose the results through an integrated report and other means.」
Financial impact analyses, response planning and disclosure efforts based on the 4.0°C and 1.5°C scenarios are ongoing. - FY2024AdvancedAnnual report
「The introduction of greenhouse gas emission regulations, such as carbon pricing systems and carbon taxes, would increase energy costs, so the company will respond by introducing electricity from renewable sources, as well as low-emission vehicles and processing facilities. At the same time, lower use of fossil fuels would reduce demand for recycled fuels, and sales are expected to decline. Conversely, demand for low-emission industrial waste processing services and raw materials is expected to increase. Anticipating this paradigm shift, ダイセキ will shift its focus toward material recycling.」
Based on the TCFD scenario analysis, the company has specified the introduction of renewable electricity, low-emission vehicles and processing facilities, together with a shift in focus toward material recycling, as measures under the 1.5°C scenario. - FY2023AdvancedAnnual report
「The group has established the following greenhouse gas reduction targets and obtained SBTi certification in November 2022. It aims to reduce Scope 1 + Scope 2 emissions by 34% and Scope 3 emissions by 20% by fiscal 2027.」
In addition to TCFD scenario analysis, the company obtained SBTi certification and set targets to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 34% and Scope 3 emissions by 20% by fiscal 2027. - FY2022RaisedAnnual report
「The company established two scenarios: one in which inadequate measures result in high greenhouse gas emissions and a 4°C increase in temperatures from pre-industrial levels by 2100, and another in which stringent climate policies are introduced and emissions are limited to keep the temperature increase by 2100 within 1.5°C. It will analyze the financial effects of physical and transition risks from climate change, assess their impact on the business, consider responses, and disclose the results through ESG reports and other means.」
The premise of the scenario analysis has become more stringent, changing from the previously disclosed scenario limiting the temperature increase to within 2.0°C to a setting that limits the increase under the stringent policy scenario to within 1.5°C. - FY2021First statedAnnual report

Following its support for the TCFD recommendations, the company has for the first time specified measures to establish a 4°C scenario and a scenario limiting the temperature increase by 2100 to within 2.0°C, analyze the financial impact of physical and transition risks, assess business impacts, consider responses, and disclose the results in ESG reports and other materials.
