「Loss on debt guarantees 8.048」

「Because the company guarantees borrowings used by the Ichikura employee stock ownership plan trust to acquire the company's shares, a decline in the company's share price would accumulate losses on the sale of shares within the trust. If, when the trust ends, the trust still has outstanding borrowings equivalent to those losses, the company will repay the outstanding balance under the guarantee agreement.」
The E-Ship Trust's borrowing guarantee risk was identified as a standalone risk for the first time. In the fiscal year ended March 2020, the company recognized ¥51.767 million in provision for losses on debt guarantees.
