「Climate change may create various “risks” and “opportunities” for the Group’s business activities, and we believe it is important for the Company to address them. ・We are converting much of the lighting at our head office and day-service centers to LEDs, improving illumination within the facilities while reducing electricity consumption. ・We have introduced electronic medical records to improve operational efficiency and reduce paper consumption. ・When constructing or renovating care facilities, we are creating environmentally considerate facilities by using recycled and discontinued products for wall and flooring materials. In the fiscal year ended March 2023, we helped reduce CO2 emissions during renovations at several business sites by purchasing products such as vinyl chloride tiles and wallpaper that would otherwise have been discarded.」
The Company identifies wind and flood damage and carbon taxes as climate change risks and is disclosing, for the first time in a systematic manner, measures to reduce its environmental impact through LED lighting, electronic medical records, and the use of recycled and discontinued products.
