According to materials from the financial supervisory authorities, the 10 companies experienced a total of 113 computer system incidents, and the number of customers receiving compensation reached 19,055. The total amount involved in the incidents was ₩7.32923 billion, while the actual compensation paid was ₩6.98941 billion.

By cause, program errors accounted for more than half the total at 58 incidents, followed by external factors, system failures and human-caused incidents. In March, the financial authorities summoned IT executives and requested that securities companies inspect their systems for responding to computer system incidents.
The frequent incidents have prompted calls for insufficient investment in IT budgets and inadequate advance inspections of IT infrastructure. Proposed future measures include stronger preventive efforts and budget allocation by the industry and financial authorities.
