AVAL DATA revised upward its earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 and announced the cancellation of treasury shares. Following the announcements, the stock returned to the ¥4,000 range for the first time in two years and traded at elevated levels throughout the day.
AVAL DATA, which supplies control equipment for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, raised its full-year operating profit forecast after the market close on the 13th from the previous ¥1.2 billion to ¥1.72 billion. The company attributed the revision to a recovery in the business environment and increased demand related to semiconductors. First-quarter operating profit was ¥415 million, 4.4 times the year-earlier level.
The company also decided on the same day to cancel 3.537 billion common treasury shares at the end of August. The move is intended to curb share dilution.
