The large-scale Hokkaido Fair has opened at Yokohama Takashimaya. Running from 14 to 27 October, the event brings approximately 100 stores together at the event venue on the 8th floor, offering a wide range of Hokkaido gourmet foods centered on corn and scallops.
Yokohama Takashimaya will hold the 67th Hokkaido Fair, an event held twice a year, over 2 weeks. The event is hosted by organizations associated with Hokkaido, and local buyers will introduce the flavors they most want to highlight from Hokkaido today.
This exhibition focuses on corn, which ranks first in Japan by production volume, and scallops, which rank first by landing volume. In addition to Hokkaido’s classic products, approximately 20 brands making their first appearance at Yokohama Takashimaya will participate. A ¥1,500 seafood boxed meal and many Takashimaya-exclusive products prepared through live demonstrations will also be available.
Approximately 100 stores will participate during the event, making this one of Japan’s largest Hokkaido fairs and offering visitors the chance to experience Hokkaido close to home.
The event will also feature a wide range of regionally distinctive menus, including products from first-time participating brands and Yokohama Takashimaya exclusives. Information on event-period benefits and admission requirements is available in the official announcement.
