The Hokkaido Fair currently being held at Okayama Takashimaya brings together booths from 58 stores, including 7 first-time participants, offering approximately 1,000 Hokkaido gourmet items. This year’s themes are corn and scallops, with featured sweets, boxed meals and prepared foods.
The scallop sampler boxed meal from Ichō Market features 2 types of scallops, red ball and large-size. The red ball scallops are described as having a rich, sticky sweetness, while the large-size scallops are characterized by their fragrant flavor.
The corn is sourced from Biei, and ice cream blended with the corn is being introduced for the first time at the event. It is being offered as a refreshing sweet treat during the lingering warm season.
The Hokkaido Fair will be held at Okayama Takashimaya through the 13th.
