Major die-casting company RYOBI LIMITED announced that it had developed a new structure for automotive chassis components. The design combines light weight and strength, with the aim of expanding the use of aluminum die casting.
RYOBI LIMITED, a major manufacturer of aluminum die-cast products, has disclosed that it developed a new structure for vehicle chassis components. Intended as an alternative to conventional ferrous components, the design is said to improve strength through the arrangement of reinforcing sections and their support structures.
The new structure has been patented, and the company plans to apply it to underbody components such as axle tubes. The company said it intends to use the development to expand the application of aluminum die casting.
The company aims to expand the use of aluminum in areas where ferrous materials have traditionally predominated, and attention is focused on future developments toward component production and commercialization.
