Metaplanet expects to acquire the Nasdaq-listed company, change its corporate name and ticker after completion of the transaction, and expand its bitcoin holdings and operations from its US base. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
All proposals related to Metaplanet's acquisition of Super League Enterprise, a US company listed on Nasdaq, were approved at the 16 October shareholders' meeting, confirming approval of the acquisition.
After completion of the transaction, the company name is expected to change to Superplanet and the ticker is expected to change from SLE to SUPA. Metaplanet said the move is intended to expand its fundraising opportunities in the US market.
The company also indicated a policy of expanding its bitcoin holdings and operations by developing capital-raising structures in the Japanese and US markets. The CEO described the approval as an important step toward building a financial platform with a global bitcoin foundation.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to requirements including the necessary filings with Nasdaq. The advertising and marketing business is expected to continue after completion of the transaction.
