MonotaRO launched a “day-of-week delivery selection service” that allows users to register in advance the days on which deliveries cannot be received for each delivery address. The service aims to increase the first-attempt delivery rate and reduce redeliveries by avoiding deliveries on business holidays. It is available on MonotaRO’s PC website.
On 15 October, MonotaRO launched its “day-of-week delivery selection service,” enabling users to register up to 5 days on which deliveries cannot be received for each delivery address. The system automatically selects a delivery date at the time of ordering while avoiding the registered days, thereby preventing deliveries on business holidays and reducing redeliveries.
The feature is available to users of the PC version of the MonotaRO e-commerce website. It is not available on the smartphone website or app, or on certain integrated services. Settings can be configured under “Delivery Address Information” in My Page, where users can register up to 5 unavailable days from Monday through Sunday. Public holidays are excluded.
Previously, users had to specify a delivery date each time through the “Preferred Delivery Date Selection Service.” With this expansion, registering unavailable days allows users to avoid business holidays without specifying a date when placing an order. The service applies in accordance with the eligible orders.
The company has also expanded services such as unattended delivery and delivery integrations. This feature expansion enables weekday-based settings tailored to the delivery requirements of corporate customers. Reduced redeliveries and more efficient delivery operations are expected as benefits of its implementation.
