ダイケン revised cumulative first-half net income downward from the previous forecast of a ¥60 million profit to an ¥8 million loss. The full-year net income forecast was left unchanged.
In a revision to its earnings outlook released after the close on 30 September, ダイケン changed cumulative consolidated net income for the second quarter (March-August) of the fiscal year ending February 2027 from a forecast profit to a loss. The previous forecast was a ¥60 million profit.
Under the revised outlook, full-year net income for the current fiscal year was left unchanged from the previous forecast of ¥350 million. The company cited higher raw-material prices, foreign exchange and supply-chain effects as factors behind the interim-period swing to a loss, explaining that profitability had not improved across its products.
The company said that prolonged tensions in the Middle East and the trend toward yen depreciation affected the interim consolidated accounting period, and acknowledged that a difficult operating environment, including persistently high raw-material prices, would continue. It said it would closely monitor conditions and make a timely disclosure if it determines that a revision is necessary.
The revision is limited to the quarterly outlook. The full-year outlook itself remains unchanged from the previous forecast, and there is also no change to the dividend forecast.
