Among the companies that announced their results after the close on 24 September, the outlook pointed to strong performance and higher dividends. Updates to earnings forecasts and dividend trends at COVER, GMOコマス, Oracle Corporation Japan and Furukawa Electric were reported.
COVER sharply raised its first-half ordinary profit forecast from the previous ¥1.93 billion to ¥3.4 billion and expects first-half profit to reach a record high for the first time in 2 fiscal years. Strong performance by the smartphone game “hololive Dreams” and contributions from licensing and tie-ups were cited as factors. The outlook incorporates the impact of inventory levels and launch timing in the merchandising business, while cost controls are expected to lift profit. The full-year profit forecast was left unchanged at the previous ¥7 billion.
GMOコマス raised its full-year ordinary profit forecast from the previous ¥650 million to ¥730 million and also increased its year-end dividend from ¥50.56 to ¥52.12. The forecast reflects contributions from GMO NIKKO and GMOインサイト, while also taking into account amortisation of goodwill and costs related to new investments.
Oracle Corporation Japan reported ordinary profit of ¥26.6 billion for the June-August quarter, its first quarter, up 26.9% year on year. Adoption progressed across a broad range of sectors, including government agencies, telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, and distribution and services, particularly in cloud-related areas, resulting in double-digit revenue and profit growth.
Furukawa Electric raised its consolidated net profit forecast for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 2027 by 36.5%, from the previous ¥42.5 billion to ¥58 billion. The revision was driven by the earlier-than-expected recognition of gains on the sale of UA CJ shares. The full-year profit forecast was left unchanged.
