As the Nikkei 225 plunged, the share prices of Saizeriya and 良品計画 rose against the market. Investors focused on factors including the assessment of price increases and overseas expansion, as well as growing data-center demand.
The Nikkei 225 fell sharply at one point amid concerns over CoreWeave's huge debt, but against a backdrop of recovering data-center demand, market participants continued to assess the underlying level of demand. Although consolidation among data-center operators is progressing, overall demand is not expected to fall sharply, and views emerged that business is converging on stronger operators.
Reports said that CXMT and other Chinese companies were moving to supply high-performance memory, prompting wider expectations that the surge in semiconductor-material prices would ease. The increase in supply was explained as helping contain procurement costs and supporting a recovery in underlying demand from data centers and equipment manufacturers.
Despite Saizeriya announcing an average price increase of approximately 6%, its share price rose by about 14% at one point. Views emerged that maintaining its low-price strategy would make a significant contribution to improving profit margins. 良品計画 achieved revenue of more than ¥1 trillion and raised its share-price valuation by announcing a medium-term plan to increase its overseas ratio to 40%.
DAIHEN CORPORATION was discussed in the latter half of the program, with views that global investment in power infrastructure would increase as new data centers are built and factory automation progresses. Although short-term share-price adjustments are expected, the program pointed out that structural long-term growth in electricity demand could support corporate value.
