Bank of The Ryukyus and Smaregi announced a business alliance aimed at supporting the adoption of cashless payments and promoting DX among companies in Okinawa Prefecture, while strengthening initiatives in the tax-free shopping sector.
Bank of The Ryukyus entered into a business alliance with Osaka-based Smaregi to jointly support the adoption of cashless payments and POS registers. The alliance is intended to promote DX among companies in Okinawa Prefecture.
The alliance comes as the prefecture’s economy continues to expand and tourism remains strong, while businesses also need to address labor shortages. The parties will promote the adoption of payment services and improve operational efficiency. Bank of The Ryukyus will use its corporate network to develop services in the payments and tax-free shopping sectors.
The two companies said they would strengthen services in the payments sector and respond to the new tax-free shopping system, supporting higher productivity and sustainable growth among companies in the prefecture.
