COLOPL established CEiRL, a subsidiary responsible for entertainment businesses centered on K-culture, including K-pop, effective 24 September, and disclosed plans to consolidate the relevant businesses under CEiRL.
COLOPL announced today that it established CEiRL, a subsidiary responsible for entertainment businesses centered on K-culture, including K-pop, effective 24 September. CEiRL is a wholly owned subsidiary, and the company plans to consolidate the relevant businesses under CEiRL in conjunction with its establishment.
The consolidation will involve CEiRL operating in 3 areas: creating IP and acquiring rights through planning and producing K-pop artists and investing in debut projects; developing and deploying games; and planning and producing social media content and video programs. The company said the move is intended to accelerate decision-making, make use of specialized personnel and enable agile collaboration with external partners.
The transfer of the K-pop-related entertainment business operated by the company to CEiRL is planned as an absorption-type company split, with 1 December as the effective date. CEiRL is also expected to support the group’s medium- to long-term strategy, including expansion into overseas markets and the use of high-potential IP.
