A joint venture led by Nissuicon signed a contract with JICA and commenced the preparatory survey for Phase 2 of the Hue Water Environment Improvement Project in Vietnam.
It was announced that a joint venture led by Nissuicon had signed a contract with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), dated 20 October 2026, for the preparatory survey for Phase 2 of the Hue Water Environment Improvement Project in Vietnam, and had commenced work. The contract will be carried out as technical assistance financed from the Loan Account (QCBS-lump-sum).
Hue advanced sewerage development under Phase 1, but the northern area was excluded, leaving wastewater treatment and flood control as challenges. Under Phase 2, plans are being advanced to improve wastewater treatment capacity and reduce flood damage.
As part of the Phase 2 preparatory survey, the work will cover natural and social conditions, water quality in public water bodies, existing drainage facilities, household connections, sludge management, and operations and maintenance systems in target areas including the Imperial City and Old Town. The performance period is expected to run from October 2026 to October 2027.
The joint venture comprises lead firm Nissuicon and participating companies Nihon Suiko Sekkei and Clearwater OSAKA, for a total of 3 companies, with Nissuicon serving as the lead firm. The project outline for Phase 2 also includes construction of a wastewater treatment plant, installation of drainage pipes, and construction of pumping stations.
