SIIX set targets under its 2024-2026 medium-term management plan, but forecasts were revised downward due to the slowdown in the EV market and conditions in key markets. The company is advancing initiatives incorporating a strategic concept, with a focus on developing new markets and diversification, while strengthening manufacturing DX and advanced EMS.
SIIX formulated its medium-term management plan for the fiscal year ending December 2024 and set targets of revenue of ¥370 billion, operating profit of ¥15.5 billion and ROE of at least 10% for the fiscal year ending December 2026. It identified four growth challenges: creating new businesses and delivering the highest quality, contributing to a decarbonized society, corporate management and finance, and human capital management.
The new president added a strategic concept, positioning the fiscal year ending December 2026 as a year of transformation, and established five strategic pillars. These initiatives are being pursued across the company, with a common focus on growth and higher value-added offerings in core businesses, supply chain optimization through purchasing and procurement reform, development of new markets and a new portfolio, diversification and a BPR strategy, and the advancement of manufacturing DX. They also include strengthening advanced EMS and introducing data-driven management.
However, final-year earnings are expected to fall short of the medium-term plan's numerical targets, due to lower operating rates in Europe and China and the slowdown in the EV market. Losses associated with the closure of the Hungary plant and impairment losses were recorded between the fiscal years ended December 2024 and December 2025. In response, the company reviewed its direction and announced a policy aimed at steady progress toward its strategic targets.
