Apple has announced the Apple Home Collection line of smart home accessories, which will be offered through collaborations with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The products will begin entering the market in December, primarily in the United States and Canada, while the timing of the Japanese launch remains undecided.
The lineup includes the Video Doorbell, as well as the Floodlight Cam, Outdoor Cam, and Indoor Cam security cameras. Their features, including dual-camera designs and low-light support, were described. Users can receive chime notifications through HomeView and the HomePod lineup.
The Smart Deadbolt Lock smart key can automatically unlock when users carrying a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch approach. It also offers multiple unlocking methods, including a PIN pad and a backup key, as well as temporary access for specific people to enter the home.
All cameras provide access to 10 days of video history for iCloud+ subscribers. Under eligible plans, Apple Intelligence automatically adds summaries describing the video content. Professional installation services will also be offered in the United States for an additional fee if users cannot install the products themselves.
