The condominium development “Crevia Todoroki” has won the 2026 Good Design Award, organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion. The award recognized its meticulous design, which makes effective use of the site’s conditions, as well as its exterior design and environmental considerations.
JR東日本伊藤忠不動産開発株式会社 announced that the condominium development “Crevia Todoroki” had won the Good Design Award. The building was recognized for its meticulous planning, which makes effective use of the site’s complexity to achieve both proximity to the natural environment of Todoroki Ravine and the convenience of central Tokyo.
The property is located in 1-chome Nakamachi, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, and has 25 units in a three-story reinforced-concrete building. The design and supervision were handled by 株式会社インター・プロデュース 一級建築士事務所, construction was carried out by DAIICHI KENSETSU CORPORATION, and completion was in June 2025.
The design features cited include a staggered building layout that uses the complex shape of the site to reduce the oppressive presence of a transmission tower, private gardens facing the road to mitigate external noise, and natural elements within the site that evoke a ravine. The judges’ comments highly praised the alley-like courtyard at the center of the site, which brings in light and air, as well as the control of sightlines toward the surrounding area.
This project predates the business integration effective 1 October 2026, and the Good Design Award reflects the organizational structure in place when the application was submitted.
