meviy, an AI platform for mechanical parts procurement, will launch a function on 5 October 2026 that automatically quotes and determines positional tolerances for holes in machined parts. For components used in aerospace, semiconductor and other applications requiring high precision, users will be able to check prices and delivery times and place orders on the spot.
MISUMI Group’s headquarters, which provides the AI platform for mechanical parts procurement meviy, announced that it would support automated quotations for the positional tolerance of holes in machining. This enables the price, machining feasibility and delivery time for parts requiring precise hole positioning to be calculated immediately, allowing orders to be placed on site.
High-precision parts used in aerospace and semiconductor manufacturing equipment require strict control of the positions of datum holes for assembly, but quotations had previously taken time. meviy has expanded the objects for which positional tolerances can be specified from surfaces to holes, enabling users to specify the positional tolerance relative to the center of a hole. This is expected to shorten quotation times and accelerate parts procurement.
As an overview of the service, meviy uses AI to generate an automated quotation simply by uploading 3D data, aiming to ship in as little as 1 day. The latest functional expansion is aligned with MISUMI Group’s “Digital Model Shift” strategy to advance digital manufacturing and DX in parts procurement, and is expected to support the expansion of the service in Japan and overseas.
Looking ahead, the expansion is expected to improve procurement efficiency in industries such as aerospace and semiconductors that require high-precision components. The expansion of meviy’s functions is expected to contribute to increasing the value of customers’ time.
