On 5 November, Yamanashi Chuo Bank held a lecture on dating apps at Yamanashi Prefectural University. The lecture formed part of an initiative to support marriage, and explained the features and use of the apps, as well as precautions to avoid scams, to students.
As a measure to curb the decline in the local population, the bank has been contracted to operate Yamanashi Prefecture’s marriage support program since April 2025 and holds dating app seminars twice a year. This was the fourth seminar and the first aimed at students.
The lecture lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes, and external lecturers including IBJ Executive Officer Utsunomiya Mikiko (宇都宮 三希子) were engaged to deliver it. Police officials including Watanabe Yoshihiko (渡邉 佳彦), a police inspector at the Yamanashi Prefectural Police Headquarters, also attended, and a total of 24 third- and fourth-year students gathered in the classroom.
