Shikoku Electric Power will raise electricity rates from November usage. The revision of transmission charges and the end of government relief measures are contributing factors, and rates for ordinary households in November are expected to rise substantially from the previous month.
Shikoku Electric Power announced that it will raise electricity rates from November usage. The increase follows a revision of transmission charges due to higher prices and labour costs.
The electricity bill for an average ordinary household's November usage is expected to rise by ¥1,412 from the previous month to ¥9,372, setting a new record high.
In addition to the increase in transmission charges, the government's relief measures are scheduled to end at the end of September, which is also cited as a cause.
Shikoku Electric Power commented, "We will strive to enhance and expand our various services."
