KITZ CORPORATION has introduced FineReport, a low-code development tool for data visualization and digital transformation, and is promoting the digitization of forms and data integration at manufacturing sites in Japan and overseas. The company plans to use a platform that integrates production-site data entry and visualization, accelerate improvement cycles including citizen development, and build a globally standardized manufacturing digital transformation platform.
Based on its medium-term management plan, KITZ CORPORATION adopted FineReport to promote digital transformation at manufacturing sites and develop a platform for data utilization. The company evaluated the support structure, which provides proposals and implementation assistance tailored to on-site challenges, to digitize paper-based recordkeeping and enable cross-functional use of production-site data.
Following implementation, QR codes have enabled information collection and real-time data entry and sharing in areas including inventory management, receiving inspections, in-process inspections, production results reporting, parts picking, production progress visualization and traceability management. In addition, the production division is promoting citizen development, in which it develops applications itself, enabling rapid improvement cycles.
Deployment to overseas sites is also progressing. At the Vietnam plant, multiple systems have been built using the multilingual version of FineReport. The company is promoting a globally standardized manufacturing digital transformation platform by deploying systems developed in Japan to overseas sites, including SAP integration.
The benefits of implementation include reduced workload for inventory management, reduced transcription and aggregation work for inspection records, more efficient operations through digitization, higher development productivity and cost savings through in-house development on overseas projects. Going forward, the company plans to deploy standardization and further sophistication in Japan and overseas by accumulating improvements originating at production sites and expanding data utilization.
