Nippon GLP announced the start of construction of the Marq Naruo-hama 2 frozen warehouse in Nishinomiya, Hyogo. The facility will have a total floor area of 12,068 square meters, capacity for approximately 18,000 tonnes, and a temperature setting of -25°C, with completion scheduled for April 2028.
Nippon GLP announced that it will start construction of the new Marq Naruo-hama 2 frozen and refrigerated logistics facility at 3-9-5 Naruo-hama, Nishinomiya, Hyogo. The four-story facility will have a box-shaped, single-tenant design, enhancing security as a dedicated property that can be used by a single tenant. The internal temperature will be set to -25°C. It will be designed to accommodate heavy goods, with a maximum floor load of 2.0 tonnes/m² and a clear ceiling height of 6 m.
The site is close to logistics hubs along Osaka Bay and is approximately 1.2 km from the Naruo-hama Interchange on the Hanshin Expressway Bayshore Route, making it well positioned for wide-area distribution across the Kansai region. Located midway between Kobe Port and Osaka Port, the facility is expected to provide an environment conducive to coordinating the full process from receiving imported cargo through quarantine inspections, value-added processing and distribution.
An outer berth and a large canopy will be provided on the first floor to maximize the storage area inside the facility. The loading and unloading layout will accommodate 9 10-tonne trucks and 2 40-foot semi-trailers. As part of its disaster preparedness measures, the plan also calls for the ground level to be raised above the surrounding roads and critical equipment to be installed on the roof.
Environmental measures will include installing solar panels and using LED lighting to support the sustainability initiatives of tenant companies. The project aims to obtain CASBEE and ZEB Ready certification. Demand for cargo is expected to increase as the surrounding area develops as a cluster of food-related factories and wholesale warehouses. Completion is scheduled for April 2028, with design and construction handled by まつもとコーポレーション.
